Congratulations to API's Inaugural Global Travel Awardees! 

As our community knows, pathology informatics is crucial to improving patient care and democratizing access to accurate and efficient diagnosis. We are proud of the work in this subspecialty, and with API's executive director, Nova Smith's commitment, we are honored to host our first three recipients who can continue to carry the mission of the Association for Pathology Informatics.

Abdul Warith Akinshipo, BDS, MSC Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Pathologist and Senior Lecturer University of Lagos, Nigeria "Attendance at the Pathology Informatics Summit 2026 will provide essential exposure and collaboration to help establish a molecular and computational oral pathology unit in Nigeria. I will share what I have learned at the API Summit through postgraduate seminars and develop proposals for establishing a computational pathology unit within my hospital. My ultimate goal is to leverage pathology informatics to improve cancer prevention, diagnosis, and outcomes across Nigeria and Africa."

Essam Ayad, MD Emeritus Professor of Pathology Former Head of the Anatomic Pathology Department & Director of the Digital Pathology Program Faculty of Medicine, Cairo University, Egypt "As I am highly interested in Pathology Digitalization, Informatics & AI applications in Pathology, so I think that attending the API Summit 2026 will be a good chance for me to fulfill my thoughts."
