API/Aller Library Information for DonorsThe Association for Pathology Informatics would like to express its gratitude for Dr. Raymond Aller’s continuing support of its mission to promote education, training, and mentoring in the field. PI Summit 2025 attendees have the unique opportunity to make silent-auction bids on dozens of lots of historical material. Examples will be presented on a table just outside the Exhibit Hall and lots shipped to the winning bidders after the meeting.* As one of the founding figures of the subspecialty, Dr. Aller not only provides key insights, but he has also been a steward of the history of pathology informatics. Since practicing in the 1970s, Dr. Aller has collected treasures that mark decades of significant shifts in how pathology informatics has changed from 1974-2000. Rather than donating the entire collection to a single University department, Dr. Aller felt it would be more meaningful to pathology informaticists if portions are divided among several different practitioners and teaching programs. This is an opportunity for API members and others in the community to own historical documents of Pathology Informatics. Consider bidding on a lot supporting future Travel Awardees and Informaticists and own a piece of pathology informatics history! * Dr. Aller will donate most of the shipping cost (for designated very large/heavy lots, it will be necessary to make a different shipping arrangement). Any lots not spoken for at the PI2025 meeting (or at least by summer 2025) may be subject to rapid unanticipated dumpsterization. |
