Webinar #2 in the 2022 Series for Pathology Informatics Leaders
The Most Overlooked Precursor to Digital Pathology Initiatives: Pre-Analytics Quality Control

May 4, 2022 | 1:00pm ET / 10:00am PT

The interest in digital pathology systems has exploded in recent years, and the inclination at the start of a deployment is to focus on image acquisition, storage, workflow and data integration. Experience has proven, however, that the key precursor is pre-analytic quality control. Scanned images must meet
predetermined diagnostic criteria to successfully avoid scanning rework and its associated costs.

This talk will address key pre-imaging factors related to tissue fixation, grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy, staining, coverslipping and barcoding. In addition, software solutions are now emerging that will analyze and possibly even correct defects in images so unacceptable ones never reach pathologists’ screens. Join us for this webinar to learn the
steps to ensure total image quality control in a digital pathology program.
