"Lab Standards: Experience with Development, Implementation, and Benefits"

Dr. Victor Brodsky and Dr. Steven Hart will host a chat focused on how and when standards have benefited/suffered from the presence or absence of standards. They will also talk a little about the life cycle of a standard, the differences between syntactic (grammar) and semantic (meaning) standards, and have an informal conversation about how you, as a pathology informatician, can champion the benefits of standards at your workplace. Additional Technology Standards Committee members Dr. Peter Gershkovich and Dr. Noah Hoffman will also be there to shed light on any misunderstandings, difficulties, or just plain lack of exposure to standards. So feel free to come and learn something or just see what sort of standards are out there.
