Association for Pathology Informatics

API Realignment with APIII

After several years of productive maturation as an affiliate of the American Society for Investigative Pathology (ASIP), API has established a new home and close strategic alignment with APIII. This partnering with an established informatics meeting will provide API with new opportunities to promote the goals of our organization. The API Council wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Mark Sobel, M.D., Ph.D., ASIP Executive Officer, and ASIP staff including Mark Pinkel for their assistance in API's evolution.

The Association for Pathology Informatics (API) will remain focused on the development and promotion of pathology informatics as a distinct subspecialty of pathology and laboratory medicine. API will continue to strive to meet the educational, collaborative, research, and publishing needs of this unique community. We hope that current and future members will play an active role in the continued evolution of this new association as the primary advocacy group for pathology informatics, providing for the development of national and international collaborations, specialty training programs, and increased integration of Informatics into pathology research and practice.

Sincerely,
Myra Wilkerson, M.D.
Acting President
